SA Adventure Off-Road Tour Grading System
Anyone possessing a valid driver's license is invited to participate in an SA Adventure off-road tour. Our tours encompass both breathtaking on-road and off-road portions. Inexperienced drivers will receive assistance from the SA Adventure tour crew, consisting of a lead and sweep guide, a support vehicle, and a medic. Participants have the freedom to drive at their own preferred pace. Before embarking on each tour, a brief lesson on off-road driving skills will be provided.
Throughout the journey, you will acquire new skills and grow into a more confident off-road driver. The SA Adventure team is dedicated to supporting you throughout your adventure, prioritizing your safety and enjoyment. To assist in your preparation for the upcoming adventure, we have outlined our tour grading system below:
Grade 1 off-road adventures mainly take place on well-maintained tarred roads, accounting for 99% of the journey. Occasionally, we may navigate through winding coastal and mountain roads. It's important to keep in mind that driving customs in the areas we traverse may differ from what you are used to, so it is essential to exercise caution and possess adequate driving abilities. These adventures are suitable for vehicles with 4x4, 4x2, and 4x4 softroaders capabilities.
Grade 2 off-road adventures consist of approximately 60% tarred roads and 40% well-compacted gravel. Occasionally, these tours may also include non-technical high-altitude mountain passes. It is not necessary to have any previous off-road driving experience for these adventures. In case of rain, alternate routes will be provided. Throughout the tour, our dedicated support crew will provide all the necessary skills and guidance, enabling you to become a more confident off-road driver. This adventure is suitable for vehicles with 4x4, 4x2, and 4x4 softroader capabilities.
