At SA Adventure we have been conducting off-road tours all over the world for just over 12 years. Our track record on safety speaks for itself and we have worked with and supported the likes of Charley Boorman, Billy Ward, Claudio Von Planta, Dylan Wikrama, Moto Aventures and Compass Expeditions.
We pride ourselves on safety, and nothing is more important to us than your well being while on tour. We have a full support truck, medic and satellite phone on every tour.
Most of the time we are on the road less travelled, and take our clients to amazing places that are remote and only accessible with off-road capable vehicles like 4x4's or adventure motorcycles. In these remote areas, there is often no mobile phone reception, making it difficult to contact the outside world in the case of an emergency. For this exact reason, SA Adventure always has an emergency plan and we carry a satellite phone with us in our support truck. A satellite phone or satphone is a type of mobile phone that connects to a telephone network through orbiting satellites instead of terrestrial cell sites, as cellphones would do. The advantage of a satphone is that its use is not limited to areas covered by cell towers; it can be used in most or all geographic locations on the Earth's surface. This allows us to get in contact to assist our clients in case of a medical emergency or vehicle breakdown.
Now you can relax on your adventure and know that SA Adventure has taken care of all the details to make your off-road experience an unforgettable one.
If you are planning an off-road adventure into a remote area by yourself, we highly recommend taking a satphone along with you. They are inexpensive to hire and can potentially save a life. Always safety first!
We get all our satellite phones and equipment through our partner company, Satellite Rentals and Sales
